Cleaning and maintaining your machine will determine how well it performs and extend its life.
Whether you have an inexpensive or high-end machine, learning how to properly maintain it will save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars in repair and replacement costs. Hours of headaches and stress trying to resolve problems when something does go wrong can be avoided.
Odessa Sewing Machine is offering an eight hour, hands on workshop, covering proper use and care.
In it, you will learn:
- How to properly clean and maintain your machine or machines.
- How needles work, and the types and sizes needed for your specific projects.
- How a stich is made, and how to create perfect stitches every time.
- How to set the tensions on your machine and fix tension problems.
- Why your thread loops or knots up and how to fix the issue.
- Why your needles keep breaking and how to prevent it.
- What causes skipped stiches and how to avoid them.
- Why your machine is not properly feeding fabric.
- How to efficiently troubleshoot a variety of problems.
You will be able to use this information with all your machines, as well as help friends and family.
This is information manufacturers are often vague about, or do not share at all. It’s much easier to sell you another machine if you do not understand how one works.
Odessa Sewing Machine will provide the following tools and supplies as part of the workshop cost:
- 8-piece vacuum attachment cleaning kit.
- Lint brush with pick.
- Four-ounce bottle of sewing machine oil with zoom spout.
- One 250-meter spool of white thread.
- One 250-meter spool of black thread.
- Four-piece tweezer set.
- Two-piece screwdriver set.
- Thread clippers.
- One ten count pack of needles.
- Demo cloth to test your machine and check your stitches.
You will need to bring:
- A working sewing machine with cord and foot pedal.
- Scissors.
